Minnesota Vikings Schedule 2012
The 2011 NFL season is really a new look season for a lot of teams and the Vikings Schedule is underway. The Minnesota Vikings haven’t made many moves, but the few moves they did make were pretty big ones. Three transactions come to mind right away. One, has to be Donovan McNabb. McNabb is a proven QB, with a decorated career thus far. Sure last year was a ruff one for McNabb, but he didn’t have much to work with in Washington. Having a tale back like Adrian Peterson automatically makes any QB better.
The second major transaction that comes to mind would have to be losing star wide receiver Sidney Rice. The silver lining to that dark cloud is that he only played in a few games last year so we won’t miss him as much. The number three big transaction was resigning Chad Greenway. The Vikings were able to franchise Greenway, who I believe is one of the more underrated linebackers in the entire NFL.
Here is the 2012 Minnesota Vikings Schedule
The schedule can be looked at two ways, the glass half empty view is that the division is really good, and getting better. Chicago is a solid NFL team, Detroit is young, and may finally get over the hump this year. Green Bay needs no introduction, they’re the defending Super Bowl champs. That’s six games right off the bat that can be tough sledding. The glass half full version is that the out of division opponents could be a lot worse. San Diego, Tampa Bay, Arizona, Carolina, Oakland, Denver and Washington are all on the schedule and none of them were able to secure a playoff spot in 2010. I seriously believe that week one is a lot more important than everyone thinks. The Minnesota Vikings 2011 schedule kicks off against the San Diego Chargers, in San Diego, the Chargers are always a very explosive team, but the good news for the Vikings is they always get off to a slow start. A big win in week one against a very good Chargers team, could possibly give the Vikes some much needed confidence early on.
Head coach Leslie Frazier was able to convert his interim label into a full time head coaching job, and deservingly so. I honestly believe Coach Frazier will have his squad ready for the season opener. I also believe having a full 16 weeks to prepare, and tighten loose nuts and bolts will make all the difference. D. McNabb was a great move, he has a history of making tight ends better and we have a good one already with Shainco. With the QB making Shainco better, and Peterson making the QB better, all while coach Fraizer is making the team better as a whole, may make up for what could be a tough in-division Schedule.
The Vikings Schedule is a good one this year
If your intentions are to attend a few games this season, there is definitely a few that you should circle on the Vikings 2011 schedule. The home opener in week two is against a much improved Tampa Bay Buccaneers team. The home opener is always high energy and always an awesome game to attend. The following week, week 3, the Detroit Lions come to town, which should again be a great game. Always a fun rivalry, but this year the Lions will actually be good, if for no other reason the curiosity of what the Lions are all about should be enough to get you out to the Metrodome. The next two circles you make on the Vikings schedule should come in week 10 and week 17.
Week 10 is at Green Bay, it’s a November game, it will be cold in Green Bay, nothing better than November football at Lambuae. Unless your close to Green Bay or plan on driving there, it will be a fun game to watch from home on Monday night. Week 17 the Chicago Bears visit the Metrodome. This game can very easily decide a playoff spot, the dome will be rocking for sure if a playoff spot is on the line against a division rival, and should be a fun time if you were able to make it.
Try to keep in mind, Minnesota Vikings tickets sell out fast, if you procrastinate, you may miss your chance so make sure you get your tickets early. Go Vikings!
